Downs is located on Route 315 Wilkes-Barre in the beautiful Pocono
Mountains Region of North East Pennsylvania. Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs
is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year providing two gaming floors
with over a thousand slot machines, food and beverages plus the action of
harness racing at the famous Pocono Downs Racetrack. Pocono Downs Race track
and it's off track wagering facilities was purchased in January of 2005 by the
Mohegan Tribal Authority (MTGA) from Penn National Gaming Inc., for the price of $280 million.
Located just of Interstate 81 Mohegan Sun at Pocono downs is painless to get to.
With acres of parking limos and shuttles it is very convenient. The entrance
splits the casino side from the racetrack side offering the choice of different
atmosphere. The casino offers a non smoking main floor with smoking permitted in
the lower level. Upon entry the gambler passes a greeter and information center
and into the casino with blue ceilings, warm orange walls and fiery blue and
neon orange carpets, clean gaming areas, a food court offering a wide variety of
dining experiences and multiple bars (bars close at 2am in PA due to PLCB
laws). The variety of machines includes everything from penny slots to $25
machines, over 500 reel games, 450 video machines and video poker, 300 slot
machines in a special smoke-free area.
